The project has been designed to provide heat to the hospital without the need of the existing boilers to operate as the primary heat source. 2 X Air source heat pumps X 400kW, 1 X 960kW Water source heat pump and 1 X Combined Heat and Power(CHP) unit have been installed as the heat to the hospital. The CHP will operate in parallel with the boilers delivering heat to the hospital whilst providing the base electrical load.
Link Energy developed the control logic, system integration and commissioning, combining Air source Heat Pumps (ASHP) 2 X 400kW, Water Source Heat pumps (WSHP) 1 X 960kW and a Combined Heat & Power (CHP) unit providing Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) to the hospital. Link has also installed a full remote monitoring and data acquisition package to enable remote plant operation, system monitoring and energy management for the end client.
