The Challenge

Kingsmill Hospital required a major controls upgrade to its heat pump energy centre. The existing panel's age and limitations risked unreliable heating/cooling delivery and lacked modern monitoring capability. Precise decommissioning and complex commissioning were essential to keep heat pumps and circulation pumps running manually before handing over a fully automated, connected system.

What We Delivered

Technical Scope:

  • Complete decommissioning of legacy panel; ensured manual plant operation during works
  • Custom EnMS control panel designed and built to BS EN 61439-1/2 and BS EN 60204-1 standards
  • Description of Operation developed for the hospital’s specific GSHP and energy centre needs
  • Bespoke software bench tested on Jace controller before site deployment
  • Full point-to-point installation, testing, and system verification—including heat pumps, sensors, and actuated valves
  • Smart Link Energy Portal and dashboard for live HMI graphics, remote access, and CSV data export
  • Comprehensive commissioning, handover pack, and system documentation provided

Key Technical Points:

  • Close collaboration with Skanska field wiring teams to coordinate panel integration
  • Excluded all field wiring/sensors to focus on main panel and controls upgrade
